Re: The Audio-Talk Cycling thread.

I have the week off and as it was another beautiful August day I rode a loop out to Dunkeswell aerodrome this morning, avoiding the worst of the sun/heat. I watched the wing walking show while enjoying coffee and flapjack in the Aviator cafe. https://i.imgur.com/hxqn51f.jpg https://i.imgur.com/HqffW...

Re: The Audio-Talk Cycling thread.

BTW, I finally received the seals for the bottom bracket on my new blue bike so it's now with my bike engineer friend to complete the build for me so hopefully I'll get to ride it later this week. Since the picture below was taken I've replaced the cranset with a carbon fibre one and installed the r...

Re: Owston meet, Doncaster, 22&23 Oct 22

Time's marching on and it's only about 10weeks until the next Owston get together so we'll have to start thinking about what to bring.

I would like to bring my DSD Valve DAC and perhaps my SissySIT amplifier.

I've also got a pair of Mission floorstanders for Steve (Cressy Snr) to deliver.

Cheers Nick. I've not done simulations before but I guess learning to do it is kind of inevitable. I guess installing LT Spice is the starting point.

Re: Valve DAC

Today I finished installing and testing the last of the supporting circuits so I'm now ready to hook-up the actual DAC board and start checking it out. The final item today was to assemble and test the DSD rate indicator board, which will eventually find its way onto the front panel - checked it out...

Re: what are you doing ?

Something of a solder-fest for me this afternoon. Apart from the Valve DAC and 'New Luminaria' preamp projects I'm working on I've got seeral other projects that I've collected and decided to just assemble what I have gathered with a view to fulfilling the BOMs. So today I finished assembling all th...

I received the trim pots for the buffer stage and installed them this afternoon so I'll be able to test the volume control with buffer now - I've got the week off so I'll get onto it ina day or two. I've also assembled one o Nicks (Jack's) Statistical Regulator kits to power the gain stage. Schemati...

My ambition is somewhat limited compared with those guys but I really enjoyed my morning ride - beautiful weather and quiet roads. https://i.imgur.com/8lvcNEN.jpg https://i.imgur.com/vghn3NJ.jpg Some great views across the Bristol Channel, with the South Wales coast in the background. https://i.imgu...

Re: what are you doing ?

Yes, it's a great time of year and ideal weather for open air performances, warm enough to be able to relax and the Sun sets early enough to get some after dark atmosphere... It's great that these events are happening again.

Here's another one, this time 1953 but there is a section right at the beginning of the start of the 1903 TdF.

Yep, when men were men, looking at the mountain pass tracks that they rode up. Catch the riders with spare wheels on their backs, I'm asuming for different gearing options.

Amazing crowds too.
