Re: The Audio-Talk Motorcycling thread.

looks like a labour of love more than a sound economic enterprise. I say that simply because I imagine quite a lot of dosh has been thrown at that launch, but from the previous posts I gather that they won't be able to sell any after 2030. Am I reading that correctly?. I listened to 3/4 of the film ...

Re: signal generator - 2nd generation

well that was my question really, can I join 0vA and 0vB? the opamp is a buffer in effect, it's just that I use it for a bit of gain....strictly speaking I don't have to have any gain, but the problem with sig gen version 1 was that it maxed out at 2v RMS and that was the main reason for looking at ...

Re: signal generator - 2nd generation

I think it's nearly time to give up this electronics malarky. I've made 2 cups of tea this morning, and abandoned them half finished, only to rediscover them some 1/2 hour later without milk.....not sure if it's distraction or absent mindedness....or something more sinister what I was pondering was ...

Re: signal generator - 2nd generation

many thanks for that... I'm still pondering about how the 2 grounds will play together...the opamp is referenced from the splitter centre ground and the ad9850 signal emerges reference to the 5v ground...when I had a 7805 in a 9v leg of the splitter then ground was ground but.......I vaguely remembe...

Re: signal generator - 2nd generation

I think I mentioned that life is full of unfinished projects at the mo..... well.... I've just discovered this in an ice cream tub in the corner of the work room....the boards were made 12 months ago but not stuffed..and there it stayed. On revisiting I tried to understand what I'd done and realised...

Re: What Are You Listening To Right This Minute?

just finished part 1 of the Peter Jackson film...wow I'm going to have to let that sink in a few days before watching part 2 all the way through I was thinking...Paul seems to be very cruel to George...it looked like it would end in tears...and it did. funny thing is, even though I was never in a fa...

Re: TKD pots

a thought just occured...as you've been messing with the soc critters lately, had you considered a muses digipot or similar. I still haven't got round to implementing mine yet, but I do plan to when I get some space back on the work bench...they do get high praise from some quarters. if automation i...

Re: driving licenses

I remember renewing my license when it went to the two part type, and then again when it went to the current one part type. I think the initial change was when I last moved house. Have you lived at the same address for the last 51 years ed? I've been at this address for 20 years.... I've just read ...

driving licenses

curious thing... I've just received a missive from DVLA telling me I must renew my driving licence..as driving licences must be renewed every 10 years. Now I've just worked out that I've had a driving licence for 51 years and apart from swapping from the red book, I've never had to renew it. when di...

Re: The Audio-Talk Motorcycling thread.

Not that big a difference Ed. What if I want to fit a third party ECU or disable air bags? I think the devil is in the detail. I still can't get my head around putting tampering with a critical IT system and changing the handlebar grips in the same legislation. To my knowledge most cars are now fly...
