Yup, the issue is the many devices that rely on the old pstn phone network and wont work with VoIP such as alarm systems etc and if you have a local power cut the devices won’t work where with pstn they would still have worked over the old powered lines. Good Battery management will top n tail the charge and discharge of the potential battery capacity…IE -5 and + 5%. This improves battery life, also manufactures may over provision on capacity leading to better life…

Desktop Ubuntu works well on the RPi5 better than Raspian IMHO which seems clunky graphics wise. Raspbian does fix the fan issue though but it should only be a matter of time until a new kernel fix from Ubuntu is released. Thinking out loud, I do wonder where the RPi is going, would you buy one just...
