Managed to book a single room at the Hall as well...

I'll be bringing turntables this time plus my phono stage, no full system so if anybody is in need I can team up and provide a source....

I wouldn't get too hung up on it TBH. IME it makes very little difference you'll get more difference by messing about with VTA than load cap and R. I'd stick to 47K and place a 100pf or less cap across it.

Thats unlucky Nick, hope you get it sorted. I keep eyeing the 'lytics in my unit wondering if I should change them sooner rather than later....the supply seems OK but I can't help thinking they could fail any time....

I highly recommend CCleaner to removed temp files and other crud...fully settable on what you want to clear including history and last open documents etc (so be careful!)...includes a registry cleaner... and also I highly recommend PC tools Spyware doctor for nuking the tracking cookies.....

I used a 25FL for a few years I found it was best loaded between 47R and 100R, I prefered the 47R, 68R is in the ball park.....1K is way too much it will sound over bright, thin and tireing IMO. I've never really worried about resistor types in this position and just use carbon but I suppose a good ...

Why not just cast a cement 'tower' in the corner of you room and set the '78 into it while its still wet...should give you plenty of mass :shock: :lol:

Hi Max, looks very neat. How did the mid sound? ...I take it the bass was good from the reports. Gridstoppers are a good idea IMHO and I'd be interested to know what the power response is and all so the bandwidth. Do you have a schematic of the PSU? Andy's original idea was to use a concertina split...
