That's brilliant work Steve.
Do you use a folding machine or a very long vice?

Currently listening to some Simply Red in my caravan.
The wifes choice, not mine.
Curiously i'm tapping my feet, and I appear to be enjoying it.
This cheap car stereo makes bass lines easy to follow.
How easily the brain can be fooled.......

Mark.

If you're passing through Chester, i can lend you a bigger Tripath amp complete with volume control, to play with.

I do have a 2024 but its been messed about with and its not in a box.

I've contacted my Ebay seller to see if he has any more.
The kit comes with Nichicon and Wima caps, so is extra good value.
Although it would only cost pence to upgrade.

No sign of van or tools, and the insurance company is being typically slow.

An old chap turned up at the door last night, with a substantial canvas bag full of decent tools. For me. Seems that the word has got out about my stolen van, and some of the Church folk are rallying round. Also had two phone calls from local widows telling me to see what i can find in their garages...

The SMPS i use is 6 amps, and usually sounds as good as anything.
Also have a good 14v drill battery but no means of charging it. (Suggestions welcome)
I've got a Maplin regulated 13v 3A linear supply somewhere in storage.
I'll find it in the next day or so and publish my findings. :)

Yes, it does better at the frequency extremes. That was apparent in the first few minutes. Whether it will change with time i can't say. Acoustic bass is clearer than the T-amp, as is the sound of cymbals and metallic things. Bearing in mind that the T-amp has good build quality and decent input cap...

Just out of interest, I bought a TDA 7297 amp kit as mentioned by Steve earlier. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/181282733842?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649 Took about an hour to build, once i'd straightened the chip pins enough to fit in the holes. Temporarily hooked it up to a de...

I have no idea Paul. Somebody else will have to answer that one.

My post is based on some experience of using these things, and little else.

Mark will perhaps do better with a TA2020 amp, or Steves TDA 7297 idea, which isn't a T-amp.

TDA7927 eh, something else to try.

Mark.

The TA2024 probably has the weakest bass of all the T-amps, though it may suit your application.
I used a decent 12v SMPS with mine, as it was supposed to be the best option. Never heard any improvement with linear supplies. Cheap enough to try both though.

I managed to get a new USB dac, (TE7022+CS4398), which seems to better the previous one.

It's good enough for a conservatory anyway.

Oh, and i got a new radio for work. Some bugger pinched the last one, along with my van.

Most rewarding. It's good to experience new things. :D Yes it's strangely addictive this football. I used to totally despise it until i had children. Then my two daughters wanted to watch Liverpool. Though they were mainly interested in Michael Owen. I was dreading it, but anyway i took them ...
