Yes, but the whole point of the exercise is that you don't have a dedicated phase splitter valve.

My transformer has 200v and 260v windings. Would there be any advantage in using 260v, and if so, what mods would be needed?

Was that configured with one 832 grid grounded and no phase splitter, or back with the original circuit? Nick did comment that it was a sort of semi-single-ended concept.

I would guess a black can radiates heat better than a bare metal one, but having no can would be better still from that point of view?
