Well, those impedances with 47k on the secondary would be

37.5 / 150 / 600

1:35 / 1:17 / 1:9 (ish)

So if you wanted 1:9, I would connect Orange and Yellow and connect the cartridge across brown and blue. Otherwise for the higher ratios connect as per the diag.

And also, unless you have a RS acciount and are taking advantage of the fee postage that gives you, Rapid are worth looking at for for bits as well.

Nope, doesn't have to be a torroid. the TX I mentioned has two secondarys, both 9v, so you can condider this as 0-9v and 0-9v, (though being AC, neither is 0v and neither is 9v if you see what I mean) You can use these to produce a + and - supply as often used in solid state amps by having the two s...

he didnt know what i needed for D5/6 though so ill deal with them later.
Couple of IN4001 will be fine, or any silicon diode, its just the 0.6v forward drop thats needed.

Yep, you should just be getting a constant 15v drop across the rect now.

Nick has volunteered (yet again) to help me out and put a valve front end on it for the fest as I don't have a balanced source at the moment. ECC88 concertina phase splitter with a touch of gain if I have my way, Nick may correct this and do a proper job of course. notworthy Just as well, as I don;...

For a resistive load VA is in Watts (Power). Power is volts * amps, so 9v at 1A = 9VA

A 15va 9 + 9 transformer would give about 0.8A per secondary. so if they were in parallel that would be 1.6A

Taking the simple view, thats a 1.8va transformer. You need 1A at 6.3v to heat three ecc83's, so whatever the voltage of the transformer it will still need to deliver something like an amp.

A 15va 9+9v torroid would be the starting place.

Sorry, I was going to post last night, and forgot. The measured voltage will be 10-15% high without load. so the 280v will be fine for the 270v supply. Valve voltages don't need to be exact to work. And the 12v transformer can be used to give the heater supply, just use a extra RC stage, maybe a 3R3...
