I take it that "better half" hasn't touched/used the SB3 either ? Naturally! Have you bothered adding artwork to your HDD music collection yet ? Not yet - SqueezeCenter is a whole new world. I'm hoping that album art might make it a bit more accessible... Are there any other interesting f...

Aye. I'm still smiling :D.

I was showing the missus the nice shiny handset earlier - she was decidedly unimpressed. Make of that what you will, but I guess my money is on "boy's toys".

After pulling most of my hair out with this I've had a break from it for a while. Now I'm back from holiday I thought I'd have another go so emailed Ripcaster this morning to ask: 1 Can they upgrade it for me 2 If not what options are there for, say, Windows Home Server I got a response in less than...

The Fonks are tempting, of course Colin's workmanship is fantastic, and the sound on the floor-stander version is superb Very much looking forward to hearing the floorstanding Fonkens sometime, as well as the Sachikos. 'Course, an upside of the Sachikos is that after these everything will be an imp...

I've got my head around it again, thanks for everyone's assistance. I don't have any datasheets with me to check the numbers to make sure I properly understand it. I now remember the "fun" I had trying to balance the anode load resistor and g2 resistor when I was playing with C3g phono. I ...

Really interesting stuff chaps. A blast from the past there Will.

I can't help but idly wonder though if anyone's tried cap input against choke load and heard a difference?

Is choke input really that much better? I don't know as I've never had the right iron to be able to compare. Mr Cresswell's current DRD doesn't use choke load and sounds rather fine.

Unfortunately, I don't think I can use a VR tube in a phono, it would be too noisy. I've had the same thoughts too Andrew, ever since I started playing with the C3g Aikido phono. Never got around to trying it, but I also wondered about noise being a problem. I have 3.3uF on g2 - sounds like it migh...

And there lies the problem I think Colin - available from source cheaper than Darren.

Glad you found the 401 CAD drawing useful :).
