Yes quite right! Sounds like I'm being a bit partisan! But no,just a little sentimental for the first valve amp I cherished in my own home.Not perfect by any means,but still,it was not too shabby,and not a bad intro into the the world of the thermionc device....

Only some kits were pcb's,most of the better,or at least more expensive ones used tagboards.Funny what a lot have said in the past about the 300b regarding hum etc.Mine was quiet as a mouse and ony ever ran slightly warm as far as the tx's were concerned,and that was only the mains-the outputs were ...

Interesting.When I built mine they were the first valve amp I'd ever heard,let alone the first I'd ever tinkered with.Maybe I was lucky,but I had no hum issues at all,mechanical or otherwise.I think from memory one measured around 4.8 mV,and the other 5.2 mV.I think they quoted 4-5mV at the time.
