Yes! Its a band Mike. A very clever if somewhat unsuccessful in unit-shifting terms band

Here's Noddy Goes To Sweden
Only the Youtube poster obviously hadn't heard of Noddy, asumed that the title of the tune was spelt incorrectly, and decided that it was called "Nobody Goes To Sweden"

I just played the first side of 'Unorthodox Behaviour' and realised it had been a mistake not to play this record for maybe 8 years .
It may be that things like the regulated supply and the rim-drive for the turntable have radically improved how it sounded on my system, too .
Fabulous , complex, fast , tight as a drum-skin ; great recording too .
Highly recommended

Wunnerful stuff, and often it's madder than cheese - thanks for bringing it along to the Manchester Airport show

I felt there was a risk standards might not be upheld at this sort of event - so I had to take affirmative action !

I've been grooving to Brand X since I started cooking the tea this evening. This involves wine too.
It strikes me how male this music is. Do we call it Jazz funk? It'll do. It ain't macho nor is it headbanging rock but it put me in mind of The Plough in Stockwell SW9 which was my local for a good few years. The Jazz there was raw through to Jazz funk and in the audience were loads of young men all grooving away and loads of girlfriends bored out of their minds (for various reasons). I, ermmmm, got a few girlfriends (back in my wolfish youth) in those days.
Does the end (my end!) justify the means? oooo errrrr

Did you succeed by promising to take them away from the music ?
- I need help in this area, let me know .
Ps. Dinner and wine and good HiFi and Brand X are a good combination. Time to warm up the system .

I did take them away from the music. Philistine that I might be, there is sex and there is music, and women (on the whole) are utterly unmoved by clever fast funky stuff.
As I've hinted before, I have 'impressed' a good number of women, down the years with The Koln Concert, (it ain't funky, is it even jazz!?) so much so that I am quite cynical.
My wife was not at all impressed with this album (it didn't work!) - she is a fine pianist even if it isn't her first instrument but this too might be a red herring.
Expect the unexpected.

I thought I might just draw people's attention to the fab nature of this track :

Was listening to the track Dave linked to ages ago, and realised its was just a side step and change of guitar to this (another massively commercially unsuccessful album)

Imagine a spoked wheel with Eno at the axle.
On each spoke add Roxy, Brand X, Robert Wyatt, Robert Calvert Solo and 801.
I like all of the spokes but didn't realise until last year how connected Brian Eno was to them all in the mid 70's. You can see an amazing pool of talent he could summon for whatever took his fancy at the time.
Lotta music I like seems to be linked to him but I didn't realise it!
