Our friend Nick Baker
#1 Our friend Nick Baker
I’m sure several members will know Nigel’s (vinylspinner) and my very close friend, Nick (little fella with no hair) who came (once with a Devialet amp) to several Owston’s with us. I am sad to pass on the news that Nick died earlier today. He was only 66. He suffered a massive brain haemorrhage at the weekend but never woke up following emergency surgery. Typical of his kindness and generosity to others, he donated his organs to the NHS Transplant Service. He and wife Alison had just moved into a new home after they renovated it and they were looking forward to a fun and active retirement together.
Nigel and I together with his other friends will miss him greatly. He brought fun and banter to our listening sessions which will never be the same again. Such an otherwise fit and healthy man taken from us way too soon

So sad Greg, please pass on my thoughts and good wishes to you and Nigel (vs) - it's difficult to lose such a close friend.
Sorry, I couldn't resist!

That's an awful shame Greg - best wishes to his family and to yourself and Nick.

The tube manual is quite like a telephone book. The number of it perfect. It is useful to make it possible to speak with a girl. But we can't see her beautiful face from the telephone number

Thank you all for the kind words. At present I know nothing more and Alison and the family have requested space to themselves for the time being. If I hear anything more, such as an online book of condolence, I will post details here.

That's terribly sad. I only met him once - at Owston. I remember he had a very warm manner. My condolences.
