am I right in thinking it's better to ground the t/t on a separate path rather than grounding it with the tonearm ground?

Hi David,

I ground 401 chassis to earth direct on mains and it works. I've not tried the tone arm route and would expect it to be the less best option.

Best wishes,

thanks Greg,
I've always connected the t/t earth to the tonearm earth because that's what I was told back in the 60s, since I've been using a TVC I've noticed an increase in hum which should be addressed, I'll try the direct path and see what happens

David I would try both ways and see if there is a difference.
