I always thought that one could not be done for speeding on a bicycle, the offence used to be (if not still) called "wanton and furious riding".

Greg might know better ?

Because bikes aren’t fitted with speedometers, cyclists can’t be charged with speeding offences. HOWEVER, if they are considered to be going too fast for the conditions, they could be charges with ‘wanton or furious cycling’ which is a criminal offence under section 35 of the Offences Against the Persons Act 1861 (as amended by the Criminal Justice Act 1948 s1(2))

After searching EBay without luck recently, I decided I would have to fork out for a new Brooks Team Pro saddle with the titanium frame. I went looking and could only find dealers with 'Out of Stock' posted against most of the Brooks saddles.
Further searching showed that Brooks was bought out by Selle Italia in 2002, but still makes the saddles in Smethwick. However the European distribution is based from Italy. Brooks issued a denial that there were any problems eg. with Brexit recently, but this seems hollow when you can't actually buy anything.

Every two hours for twenty minutes each time I have an ice jacket machine wrapped round my knee which compresses and cools the knee on a 30 seconds on, 30 seconds off cycle. Also been given smart red-n-white "sticky socks" to stop me going a-over-t on the wooden floors... Except they're one-size-don't-fit-all, especially if you're an extra wide fit size 13...

Recovery is up and down. Only day 2 and months to go yet.

Tomorrow: STAIRS

Wish you well for the recovery Nick - they'll have you up and about in no time!

Ah, the stockings, I was acquainted with them for months after having my hip screwed back together, not something to be without after that sort of op though.

Nick (Jack), I hope your recovery goes to schedule.

Just don't be too impatient. :)
