Finally got around to start looking at the UJ change. (TBH not been looking forward to it.) Not a fun job! Old one off, OK, new one goes on but not all the way. Is it hung up somewhere or just doesn't fit? Slides on easy then comes to a dead stop, no amount of tapping with hammers alters the situation.

Well, today I took it to the dealer [F2 M/C at Leverton nr Wisbech] for a coating of looking at by his mince pies – he did something I didn't, which was measure some things – turns out the boss of the new yoke (the part that inserts into the FD) is 0.25mm longer than the original one – also, there are no shims next to the bearing inner race, so can't simply take a shim out to make clearance to make it fit (shims can be 0.1 or 0.3mm or a combination thereof). Anyway turns out just needs more brute force – he managed to shove it in some more so could get the pin started, which was then walloped with much ardour with copper mallet 'til it went through. The tip remains somewhat proud compared to originally, but is due the the extra 0.25mm, causing the yoke to be that much further out than the original.

Anyway it's all back together on the bike now and working, so happy days.

Today's job was replace the rear brake pads.

Hang on. They are saying that fusion will requires rare and short lived fuel. Doesn't that defeat the point of limitless energy?

So they need the by product of a fission reactor to provide the fuel for a fusion reactor.....
Where did they get the data of 20kg world wide from? I would suggest that that is the commercial supply, presumably governments with nuclear power and/or weapon capability have their own supplies of tritium and deuterium from active nuclear reactors or nuclear fuel enrichment plants. Otherwise why sink billions into the various fusion projects if the fuel is unobtainable
