There's nothing special about D2 . Both types get converted to 25(OH)D and then I think to another form which I've forgotten the name of. D3 is reckoned to be slightly more effective than D2, as it's closer to what the body creates from sunlight. I believe D2 is made by exposing mushrooms to light, or UV, then extracting it from the skin.
It's not like B vitamins, or K1 and K2, where you need all the different types.

I'm on a reasonable dose of D3 now. :D

Did not feel sleepy last night, so got up and browsed the bookcase, found "The Readers Digest guide to Vitamins, Minerals and Supplements".

Off to Holland and Barrett Monday.

He seems to be making real sense.

I ordered some stronger vit D3 a few days ago (not here yet) and I've upped my consumption of the lesser strength capsules.

Not compared to the 5000iU some people take.

They keep revising the "normal" dosage so what you have does not seem excessive.

Yes - I think Jack has found the most expensive ones you could find ! - even by Solgar's standards that's a bit pricey. Will be good, though ; although I don't know how the brands compare to be honest. There is a company that does testing on all supplements and monthly reports , but you have to pay them about £35 per year subscription. I never felt the need , quite enough, to pay them !
