Lines brothers, Triang, Rovex plastics etc made their first electric train set circa 1950.

Wha'sappenin'????
Funny you should ask. I've just had a customer ask if all our stuff is windows 11 ready...

...so I'm installing it on a spare pc in the next day or so...
Depending on the age of the PC you may need the TPC bypass here

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/win ... e77ac7c70e

It still reports itself as version 10 using GetVersionEx() so all our stuff doesn't notice the difference.

None of which answers Andrews question, but I am not entirely sure what he is asking.

Though to be fair, the magnets and batteries we had then are not ilke the ones available now in terms of potential murder/death/kill.

Still requires at least TPM 1.2 - the reg hack just removed the requirement for TPM 2

I know you know! It was more a statement of exasperation as it'll mean new motherboards and probably new matching processors and memory for otherwise perfectly good machines.

I'll have to have at least one Windows 11 development box. Just a waste of time... There's a huge number of machines out there that'll never be able to run it, assuming they ever want to.

As I understand things W10 will continue to be supported for a few years so the fact that all our W10 computers (4 off) can't be updated to W11 is not a big deal.

IIRC Win10 will be actively supported by Microsoft until 2025 so Win11 is no big deal for me at the moment.

Tomorrow I'm going to experience some live music for the first time in far too long - off to Southampton to see Steve Hackett on his 'Genesis Revisited' tour.

A bit of a senior moment yesterday - again!

I have a remote-controlled roller garage door and it wouldn't shut proprly. I spend ages trying to work out what was wrong and checking the main controller against the schematic. Then I remembered that the sensor on the door is battery powered!

Ah, good point. (Or 2.)

It's going to cost him!
More than you might think....

Just heard from the old boy that rammed me...

Just to thank me and to tell me that he'd arranged for his daughter's car that we left at the roadside bus stop to be picked up the following day - SWMBO and I had driven past and noticed it had gone...

...except that it wasn't picked up... It'd been stolen over night !!!

So now he's got two police notices: one for ramming me and a second for the theft of his daughter's car (on which he only had 3rd party).
