oh, a constant current load is the same as a constant current source, yes i'm familiar with that term but havn't quite grokked them yet

funnily enough it is izzy wizzys site and Will that got me interested in moving away from active devices and more towards passive chokes and trasformer coupling. i like the relaxed yet dynamic sound they seem to get/describe

i've still got separate valve regulated supplies for the phono and line stages but i'm in the process of finding out what difference it makes to put some passive filtering between the regs and signal circuits. so far i like it (though that may be as much to do with decoupling in the HT between stages). awaiting some more bits before i can take it further

maybe when i've finished the transformer section in morgan jones i'll be able to work out the output impedance of my line stage

I was talking about the transistors creating a CCS load for the output stage.

 there's something in the circuit following cows ? does having cows in the circuit improve the frequency response ? can you tell that trying to match what i am writing in this job application form to the person specification has done something to my bwain ?

Not so much at the high frequencies but at the udder-end it's a different story.... (see what I did there?)

How much longer can we milk this joke Image

Okay leaving moo follower aside, cathode resistor and maybe a bit of something as a grid stopper and you've got a current source Image
