Interesting.
I was thinking of buying a WD PSU3 case to put my DAC in but it came to just over £100 !
One of these cases is a similar size (slightly smaller) for E20 + 20% VAT
Unfortunately that is just not quite big enough,so i would have to be looking at the GX288 which is E23.4 + E4.68 VAT (E28.08)
If you are ordering Nick i would be interested to share shipping costs.
ps have I got those prices right ? They sound too cheap !!

That's where I bought my enclosure from for the F5. Don't take the option of the expensive feet, not worth the extra money IMHO, otherwise not bad at all.Nick wrote:I just had these pointed out to me, with a mind to building a F5 in them.

Well, they look to be the same range I (and others here) used for my preamp and things, and that price looks about right. This link just seems to have a bigger range.

To be honest, the shipping charges are so reasonable (E18 inc vat for the two cases i desire) that it would probably cost more to post them on if we did a combined order.

Yep, possibly so, up to you. I think I will get one of those cases at least to build a F5 in some time, it can always sit on the shelf untill I get round to it.

Well it will look nice on the shelf and I confess that a neat looking, functional box such as advertised might help at least hide the bird'snest of wiring that some of you smirk at when you look at the wiring in what we might, in a flush of enthusiasm, call another of andrew's 'amplifiers'.
Can't get my head around fundamentalist and revisionism when applied together! an example might help.

Well i have ordered, and paid (paypal) so we will see what happens.
In the end I ordered 1 of GX283 and 1 of GX288.
That should house my DAC and the T amp (amp-power supply-transformer).

Low voltage high current amps worry me far more than the other way round, and the poor little three legged things die so easy they need a nice warm box to live in.andrew Ivimey wrote:Well it will look nice on the shelf and I confess that a neat looking, functional box such as advertised might help at least hide the bird'snest of wiring that some of you smirk at when you look at the wiring in what we might, in a flush of enthusiasm, call another of andrew's 'amplifiers'.

I start to worry about a somewhat worrying trend in your postings mr I, you mean we can't make self contradictory statements now? You will be expecting sense and grammar next.
How about fundamental revisionist as a nice zen paradox, any better?

If, young man, you are trying to show me the dull grey meaningless of a space between otherwise coherent text, then you have ac=hieved your goal when you say, try this......
but
its also very boring, unless you mean that I should try something else; something you haven't specified so I could try guessing .. that your buffer works?!
