Question for the panel, in an EI tx whats the worst direction of radiated magnetic hum field. along the grain of the lams or at right angles to it?

I've not held iron filings near it but the magnetic path is along the grain.

Hmm, wonder if (eventually) I should get a toroid instead? I've heard there's less hum field on those.

Maybe, but everytime I use one, I have to rotate it to get the minimum induced switching noise.
