Sometimes you have to despair at the mentality of some people!

That was on the "other" forum some time ago.

Without doubt the most stupid and dangerous thing i have ever seen. :x

I don't believe it. I think it is a deliberate spoof and certainly not a montage.

Best wishes,

You would think so, but soon it will be totally legal for ladies to get out of a bath all wet, plug a hair drier in to a standard socket outlet in a bathroom, get back into the bath and dry their hair.

You might say where is the danger in that, since when that becomes legal all bathroom equipment will be rcd protected.

hairdriers are class II, no earth.

RCD senses difference in current flow through phase and neutral, which can only occur in a fault where current flows to earth.

So if she conducts electricery between phase and neutral (the only two conductors she has in the bath with her) the rcd will remain balanced so not trip.

Isn't the bath water earthed?

If it isn't then she can't conduct can she, as the electricity has nowhere to go?

It all goes a bit wrong when she turns the tap on...

Oi! What about us boys with luvverly locks, why can't we dry our hair in the bath too.

Being chaps we'd use a 1950's metal bodied class1 appliance naturally :)
