You're very kind, Phil.
At the beginning of the year, I could barely function - I never thought I could get back to this level.

Excellent Mark, it's very good to see.
Sorry, I couldn't resist!

Not exactly typical June weather today so i resorted to the garage and did a virtual ride up and down Mont Ventoux

I've put together a gravel bike using my old Specialized Sirrus frame and a collection of spare parts - I did a 25mile ride along the canal towpath after work today, great fun and the bike actually rides really well and is very comfortable. The tyres are 34mm and a really good compromise between speed, ride comfort, traction and toughness. I've got a couple of weeks off work now so I think I'll try to do some more trail riding - I rather fancy the tarka trail on the North Devon coast from Barnstable.

Friend of mine ( mountain-biker) bought a Boardman bike of similar spec quite recently. He's enjoying it on the roads.

Yep, my build rides very well on the roads, brisk and comfortable.

I recently applied for a bus pass and this arrived a few days ago, so having officially joined the ranks of being a pensioner, yesterday Lynn and I spent a rather nice day trip into Manchester and on walking back to the bus depot to catch the bus home we were encountered by the eye opening site of bunch of cyclists riding in convoy naked through the streets of the city centre!
Just had to video this on my mobile the sights for all to see being:
Don't know what it was about but sure it was entertaining and capped a great day out.
Now we know what all you ardent cyclists get up when you say to the other half...just going out for a ride with a few other riders dear.

Just been down to Carrog & back. The wind was hostile. I went down through the smaller but hillier lanes on the way out ( hard ) but did get a stonking tailwind back for miles on the Corwen>Ruthin road.
Here's Carrog, near the Dee.
You'd think the road west from Carrog, would be lovely, looking down on the river. However it was mostly uphill, with a gale-force headwind and potholes so big you would go into them ( slowly ) then have to change down a gear to get out. Total 3hours05, with one approx 5min break.
Just over 40 miles.
