Thats exactly what we found using Andrews TVCs, and I guess that as the gain approaches unity, it presents a lower and lower impedance load to whatever is driving them

and when playing more complex music (rock), eg Led Zep I tend to have the volume control very well advanced.....which is where I found the system wasn't performing. Note that I've stopped blaming the Bugle. Diana Krall, Corine Bailey Rae and lots of others that make up my more typical listening were fine. Hmm, need to decide on a buffer / low gain stage now.
