#1 Ad free YouTube.

Post by pre65 »

I've just had a update on my pseudo Chromebook and now I get a short advert before every YouTube video. :(

Seems I would have to update to YouTube "premium" @ £11.99 a month (after a two month free trial) to get rid.

After my previous post I seem to be advert free now. :?

I'll see what happens on my main laptop tomorrow morning.

Adblocking stops Youtube adverts.
Chrome has an adblocking extension, so installing and enabling it stops the unwanted ads.
Brave is another browser that is built upon Chrome, and that does the adblocking from the off.

If you need to do things online, and the site you're on appears to be broken you might have to disable the adblocker.
I got a parking ticket the other week, and paid it online - the payment site wouldn't play ball with the adblocker in place, so I turned it off, paid the fine, and turned the adblocker back on again.

Strange, as I have Adblock + on all my computers.

The problem seems to have gone away. :?

I did read (somewhere) that Google needed to make adverts non delete-able in order to encourage advertisers to pay. Seems a logical decision.
