Berning ZH270, 'just because'. A friend in the US ran one for a while around the turn of the century, and since he's no longer with us & I like the aesthetics, it's on the list.
Besides, David liked the old Syntonic Research albums. That's good enough for me. Incidentally, if anybody reads his comments about foghorns, doesn't know and is daft enough to care, the album in question is Environments 9 -it's the Pacific Ocean 'recording' (certain euphemism on that score).

I second the Berning amplifiers!
Also:
Turntables: Sony PS-X9, Denon DP-100, Pioneer Esoteric P3 & P5. I've heard the Trio L-07 & Yamaha GT2000L (best DD I've heard)
Amplifiers: Dartzeel CH-8550 to see if it really does meld 'valve and solid state' sound- I've heard most others I've been interested in...
Loudspeakers - Wharfedale SBF/3. I've heard and loved Apogee Scintillas & Duettas and various Maganapans. Yamaha NSX-10000
Any pre 60s Western Electric, RCA, etc. or Klang Film, etc. etc. Cinima Sound System...
There are others but thats the highlight list for me...

I'd like a Technics slp-1200 CD player im my retro system.

A pair of those recently came up at one of the Antiques/Bric a brac places we visit up in the Wolds.
